San Juan (AFP) - Puerto Rico was under 24-hour isolation Monday, governor Wanda Vazquez told local media, leaving the island the first major US jurisdiction to take such drastic measures against the coronavirus pandemic.

"All citizens should stay in their homes 24/7 until March 30," Vazquez told WKAQ 580 AM radio.

The comments came a day after she announced by video message a 9:00 pm to 5:00 am curfew, and the different directives left some residents confused about whether or not they could go out in the daytime.

They shut down Colorado for the next 30 days. I’m pretty disgusted with what is going on.

It’s voluntary martial law. It’s working.

I'm confused. Is that sarcasm, or what Ohio has in place?

Ridiculous. However, if you want to tank the economy as a way to try and unseat Trump, this would be one way to try.

And since most of the governors doing this are dems, I have to wonder (being a bit paranoid) if that isn’t the new plan...

Do you know what republicans or republican states are doing this?

Are we going to have “voluntary martial law” when the 2020 flu season starts in October?

So far this flu season, the CDC estimates a minimum of 22,000 USA deaths.

That works out to 144 influenza deaths each day for the last five months.

After eight weeks of the COVID-19 epidemic in the USA, we have 85 deaths.

29 of those deaths occurred at one nursing home in Kirkland, WA.

"They shut down Colorado for the next 30 days"

Boyne shut down Big Sky Resort at the end of Lift Ops on Sunday.

It's total BS, but that's pretty much how they are. Moonlight Basin would have remained open.

We had quarantines for polio and measles before we had vaccines in the 50s, yet the country’s business continued and most things stayed open. No media shrieking about “we’re all going to die!” back then. No blaming the president for illnesses. How did we survive?
