Half of the people infected will show symptoms in 5 days. Almost all will show symptoms in 11 days. I think we all, well maybe not all of us, but a lot of us are counting the days since our last possible contact.

I am concerned that we are way overdoing our response at this point. I think a more sensible way forward would be to ask our older population to impose upon themselves restrictive social distancing and wait out the pandemic while the vaccine is developed.
Nice to see the thread more civil than yesterday’s. Went to the credit union to get a bit of spare cash and a sign on the door recommended online transactions only. I’ve got enough, so drove away.
Grocery store parking lot was full. We’re stocked up and ready to hibernate for a long time.

The U.S. surgeon general said Monday that the United States is about where Italy was two weeks ago in the coronavirus struggle, a sign that infections are expected to rise.
“We are at a critical inflection point in this country, people,” Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams told Fox News. “When you look at the projections, there’s every chance that we could be Italy.” Yet he said the U.S. has opportunities to mitigate the pandemic.
Two weeks ago, Italy had 1,700 cases of coronavirus and had reported 34 deaths. Now, Italy is reporting an estimated 25,000 cases and more than 1,800 deaths. About 3,800 cases have been reported in the United States and so far, more than 65 people have died from coronavirus. Although the numbers may not be directly comparable, the trajectory is, as Adams sees it.

I agree, I have seen that.
You know I am just a regular joe trying to make sense of what’s going on. I get most of my info here, I’m avoiding all other news outlets, especially TV, for my own sanity.
And in my uneducated opinion, this appears real to me. I didn’t believe things at first, but then large scale national events began to mesh with the things I had read, and I had to conclude something extraordinary is happening.

I have always wanted a huge freezer for the garage.. but, alas.. no room to put it. No room in my kitchen freezer at the moment. I stopped going shopping Wednesday and don’t plan on ordering online.. I’m good for now.

Well, they have closed schools here in rural ozarks, at least the one in the direction of the interstate. The one in the opposite direction, where my kids would have gone if we didn’t homeschool, I haven’t heard about yet but they probably won’t be far behind.
