Closing non-essential businesses... who pays the worker downtime, who pays the business’ bills? And if the government, how? If, for the sake of discussion, my employer is closed, will they pay me my scheduled hours? Will I apply and get a government check? And how? This is a potential disaster in making. (And I do agree that some things should be shut down, restructred, or avoid to prudently minimize exposure and spread. Consider from my perspective that I live in Reno, a casino town. Shut it all down? Or things where you cannot keep 6+ feet separation, or whatever.)
...and no samples. That is the real reason to go to Costco around snack and lunch time.
The Feds will write checks if they have to, medical and first responders will get paid. Political suicide not to. People can scare each other all they want, let’s get our oars in the water.

In Illinois the governor just closed all the restaurants. I hope landlords are not expecting rent from restaurants, waitresses, food distributors, or valets. And literally tons of food will rot. I’m thinking this is depression time in Chicago.
It’s in the 80’s and humid there. Hopefully someone is noticing.
