SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) An employee for Sitel Group has tested positive for COVID-19 leading to all associates evacuating its Spartanburg location.
The evacuation came after the company was advised by the South Carolina DHEC. This resulted in a deep clean of the facility Friday night.
Sitel Group released in a statement that, The health and safety of our employees is our priority. We have reiterated to our employees that they should monitor their health and contact their health providers if they feel ill. We had certified vendors in viral decontamination who completed a hospital-grade deep clean at the site yesterday evening.
Did the employee eat at a Chinese restaurant?
A silver lining of sorts is that the site (at least for now) is likely cleaner than it has ever been since the day it was built.
There ie a strip mall across the street with a Chinese restaurant. The owner/operator is one of my neighbors.
I’m eating Chinese food from a local Chinese take-out restaurant. It’s so good.
Huh. I was just kidding.
No Chinese food for me as a rule, MSG.
Only exception is the crab Rangoon the local places makes fresh every day.
I hope these people didn’t rush to the door in a panic. Unless they had contact with him (I think the rule of thumb is 20 minutes of close up exposure) the concern shouldn’t be overwhelming. It doesn’t spread as well by touching things.
If they have spent time with him in close quarters there’s nothing that can be done to undo it and they need to get checked. But most will probably be clean, anyway.

An allergic reaction? What does it do?
Migraine trigger.
A few hours of sheer misery.
Most chain places are out.
I’ve heard of the allergy and heard people say they have it, but never knew what the reaction(s) were. Thanks.
Widespread? No.
It remains a location-by-location phenomenon transmitted by individuals. Irresponsible individuals.
Well, I found out today that my employer is giving me the next two weeks off because as an old fart, I fall into their high-risk employee criteria. I took the wife out to eat Chinese as a little celebration.
The wife and I will be going to a Chinese restaurant on Monday.
Call centers tend to have lots of small cubicles jammed together. Not a good situation for preventing WuFlu transmission.
I have a severe allergy to MSG also.....SEVERE hives!
While they get this figured out??
Have the people in charge at that location been living under a rock?
Why hadn’t they developed a plan to put into place in the event this occurred?
Good gad.

So, close contact = about 20 minutes @ about 6 feet away. (Not just a quick paths crossing).
Touching things that person coughed onto may be another thing entirely.

Yeah, from what I hear that sounds about right.

Oh, yeah, there you’re also throwing in projection and bodily fluids. Def more dangerous.
When I see Trump, Pence and 8 other people all jammed together on a podium for a presser for 45 minutes, I’m hoping they all are in good health!
