Wow!
I was in Walmert yesterday, and I have to say I was struck at how courteous everyone was. It was pretty crowded, but not packed. The usual things missing, such as most of the TP, but there were an small hand full of 8 pack Charmin. I’m a Scott man, and I’m already stocked, so I left it for others.
Civilization remains as long as Man chooses to remain civilized.
I think we, and in that I mean me, have to change how we are looking at this. This is an opportunity to fall apart, certainly. But it’s also an opportunity to come together and defeat this thing. We have been challenged. It’s time to answer.
That is why with spring/summer heat and light, it will kill or lesson it.
Because they are militaristic and would love to have an empire.
I think it will be in less time then that.
Wuhan makes the antibiotics I’ve been told.
Wuhan still not really working any more.
And China has indicated the production will initially go to build China’s supply back up.
It may be months before we get any more antibiotics in this country.
Medine, 1910’s style will return without antibiotics.
Wow, you must have been listening to “Coast To Coast AM” last night.
I blame Nixon.
I am comforted knowing that somewhere, there are some Democrats currently evaluating how they can use this crisis to impeach President Trump if he wins again.
You know this is happening.
Your prediction may very well apply to the contagious flu virus itself, but driven by the media and especially by social media I fear the breakdown in our infrastructure and of our social norms may extend considerably longer, especially if the current perception -- pushed incessantly by the wild-eyed media -- that contracting the Wuhan corona virus means "you're gonna die!"
Look how many years Fake News dragged out the Russia hoax. The Wu Flu psywar is with us through November at least. Time is going to tell us we’ve been fed a pack of lies.
The panic is the problem. Everyone is lemmings, NBA shuts down, every other sport shuts down. One University shuts down, all other universities shut down, and so on, and so on.
“Mr Corona, I am 75 years old. I don’t even look at the young girls, even in their summer dresses anymore. Save your threats for someone who has their life in front of them.” (Stolen from MAD DOG COLL with modification)
This was just a dress rehearsal with a virus of a mild flu, to see how the world reacts. The next one will be more deadly.
All changes aren’t bad. Maybe some good will come of it, even if it means seeing people washing their hands before leaving restrooms.
There are other things that could be better as a result of this. It might open more opportunities for telecommuting, depending on how productive employees are during this.
On the other hand, though I hate that they must do this -- and accept that they must -- if this "temporary" suspension helps get the panic under control then it's worth it ... depending on what "temporary" turns out to be.
The consequences of a litigious society.
Your point brings up a point: Are they going to shut down the courts? I suppose they must, even if spectators are barred ... Then what will happen?
From the JH website, there are only 52 cases in the P.I.
2 recovered and 5 deaths.
All of those things are measures to make sure people don't overwhelm the medical system. The goal is to avoid a bunch of people getting critically ill at the same time, overwhelming hospitals LEADING to people dropping dead in the streets.
That is exactly right. That is the goal.
