DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton Police and the University of Dayton Police responded to Lowes Street in the South Student neighborhood on reports of a massive crowd.
University officials said the crowd gathered around 11 p.m. and began throwing objects and jumping on cars. Students said they were celebrating the cancellation of classes due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Police in riot gear fired several rounds of paintball guns and pepper balls into the crowd. Units from across the city were also called in to help after verbal orders to disperse were ignored. University Officials said at least one person was hurt by a thrown bottle.

I have two elderly friends at church who are University of Dayton graduates.
If I were paying tuition for my son or daughter and he or she engaged in destructive (or any) festivities over the cancellation of classes, I would never spend another dime.
I can understand the inmates of K-12 schools’ rejoicing over a furlough, but college students have chosen to be there, and someone is paying big bucks for them to attend class and achieve their credential. Universities should be worried that a critical mass of the public will notice that their “value” is a total fraud.
I wonder if they put these on ice before firing.

The UD “student getto” has always looked for reasons to riot - some have been quite violent.

These people are allowed to vote.
Because of our involvement in the Vietnam nam war. Because of democrat politicians. Because they were sending 18 year old kids to kill and be killed in a jungle half way around the world. Kids wee given the right to vote. Like a favor

UD is a private “Catholic” school with very high tuition.
Now it’s Catholic “in name only” and has devolved into a Marxist indoctrination center...with very high tuition.
In ‘87, I earned an MBA at nearby Wright State University - UD’s crosstown rival. At the time only 25% of MBA Business Schools were accredited - WSU was one of them and UD was not.
Wouldn’t it be nice if all these students were given a Clorox bottle and went to a nursing home to help wipe these places down.

This was a pi$$ poor planning job on the part of the uni and local LE. WTH did they think was going to happen. Don’t they monitor social media?! And to let it go on for three freaking hours?!
