Data shows daily coronavirus deaths are decreasing worldwide. Media misleads with cumulative statistics and graphs

With coronavirus death toll in the U.S. rising to 19, people are becoming increasing afraid of contracting the disease. To date, there are 3,803 reported deaths with 109,835 confirmed cases worldwide. Also a total of 60,694 people have recovered from the virus. As the fear of coronavirus continues to spread, there are a growing number of reports of empty shop shelves as people rush to stock up on basic products such as hand soap, sanitizers, tissue papers, and many more. It got so bad that some stores are now limiting purchases of these products, more due to coronavirus fears.

The fears stem from the misleading information coming from mainstream media about the trend of the virus. The media shows the number of fatalities continuously increasing, on a time-based graph. The problem with this is that, the media only uses a cumulative graph to illustrate coronavirus deaths. However, if you look deeper at the raw data provided by John Hopkins on GITHUB, the number of global deaths per day are decreasing worldwide.

Hats off to Evan at TradeGuru, who first noticed the discrepancy in media’s cumulative statistics and created a more accurate chart. According to Evan’s analysis using the raw data provided by John Hopkins University, “the virus is decreasing in hotspots such as South Korea, China and Hong Kong (the first to deal with the novel virus). The press tells us it’s an outbreak, or a pandemic on the precipice. Both situations would suggest exponential growth. The actual data doesn’t suggest exponential growth of fatalities at all. The data suggests decline. In fact, the crude death rate is statistically 0.”

Also, it’s now being estimated that 80% of individuals that contract the coronavirus are asymptomatic or midly-symptomatic. And in this viral video, Rebecca Fraiser says she “never really felt unwell” after contracting the virus, and it “sounds like it is the case for the majority of people.”

If you seriously think this is unrelated, seek help from a competent financial professional.

Always funny how if the numbers arent to their liking from China, they become “commie” stats. The moment things settle down in S. Korea and Italy, they will likely rant on about a “cover up”, and then move to the next country.

“What method of transmission happens with an asymptomatic person; how does he or she spread it if not coughing or sneezing?”

shaking hands can do it ... also the virus lives on surfaces for a while, maybe a few hours depending upon conditions ... so someone coughing or sneezing on a surface that’s then touched by someone pretty quickly thereafter, like say in an airplane, can spread it that way ... not clear how efficient the virus spreads itself that way though compared to airborne droplets ...

I did, he said the same thing. He predicts a V shaped recovery. You go ahead and panic, I will profit from that.

Italy has the oldest population in Europe and the average age of those killed by this virus there has been 81.2 years old.

“Countries playing whack-a-mole: coronavirus infections are expanding exponentially.”

so, has the spread in the U.S. been exponential or simply geometric with a steep slope .... inquiring minds want to know if you’ve fitted the data to a time curve to be able to make that “exponential” claim, at least for the U.S. ...

Remarkably worse in Italy and Iran. Perhaps they got different strains, or possibly it started infecting people there earlier than originally thought.

Italy’s health care system is top notch in quality, but not in quantity. Their ICU beds in the affected regions are about to become full.

Um....ITALY. (And many of our new U.S. cases are from folks coming from Italy.) Cases in Italy doubling more than once a week, that is “EXPONENTIAL.” 16 million Italians, 1/3 of the nation, are now on lockdown.

Sunday 8 March 2020 5:35 pm:

“Coronavirus: Italy confirms 133 new deaths in a day as lockdown begins”

https://www.cityam.com/coronavirus-italy-places-16m-people-in-quarantine-in-north/

Italy has confirmed more than 100 new deaths from the coronavirus outbreak today alone, with the official tally now up to 366.

The new figure was released after the Italian government placed 16m people in its affluent northern regions under a virtual lockdown, in an attempt to restrict the spread of the coronavirus, which has now infected over 1,200 people in the country.

The clampdown, which was signed into law overnight by prime minister Giuseppe Conte, mean that people will not be able to enter or leave Lombardy and a number of other provinces.

The cities of Venice, Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Rimini will all be affected by the law, which will remain in place until 3 April.

Speaking to a news conference, Conte said: “There will be no movement in or out of these areas, or within them, unless for proven, work-related reasons, emergencies or health reasons”.

The decree instructs citizens to “absolutely avoid” either entering or leaving the areas listed, and even to avoid moving around other than for emergencies or “essential work reasons” within the designated areas.

The law means that all museums, gyms, cultural centres, ski resorts and swimming pools will be shut in the targeted region as Europe’s worst affected country battles to limit the spread of the disease.

They need to discount the China data, it is not accurate. This is also were it took off before they knew what they were dealing with so it will be higher.

Italy and Iran. have horrid public health systems, they smoke like chimneys and they have concentrated elderly populations. A toxic recipe for this kind of pandemic.

BECAUSE AN EFFING TSUNAMI IS COMING, THAT HAS ALREADY HIT MANY OTHER COUNTRIES, AND DULLARDS STILL REFUSE TO LOOK AT REALITY!

That’s why.

“Why spread fear?”

OMG, a serial killer has just killed every family on your block, one house after the other, somebody tries to warn you to take precautions, and you say,

“Why spread fear?”

Jesus.

I thought “exponential” meant you had to have an exponent?
