Less than a month after the chaos in Iowa, Democrats arent promising to release same-day results from Saturdays Democratic caucuses in Nevada either.
Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said the early vote and the multistage caucus process with three sets of results could affect when the results come out and they plan to emphasize accuracy over speed.
Were going to do our best to release results as soon as possible, but our North Star, again, is accuracy, Perez said Tuesday, giving no timetable.
**SNIP**
The DNC scrapped its plan to use an app to report votes in Nevada that helped delay and muddle results in Iowa after some caucus volunteers couldnt download it.

Vote gatherers should all write the results on a sticky note and walk it to Vegas. It would be the quickest way...
Corruption should not be this hard, people.
Gotta keep Burnie down, you know.
/ Not sarc, they’re honestly doing it
When you positively, absolutely want something completely and utterly destroyed overnight, you would call in Marine Artillery.
Now, you can call in the DemocRAT Party.
WHY?!
Okay, big red flag. When your "spokesperson" has a completely unpronouncable name, Xochitl Hinojosa, there is probably lots lost in translation.
Apparently it takes time to steal a nomination.
Somebody tell Bloomberg: When the farmers ran the Iowa Caucuses they worked just fine. It took the Big Brain Grey Matter geniuses to screw it up.
h/t to Natalie in Lunenberg, caller on the Kuhner Report on WRKO Boston.
For crying out loud, the 2016 Nevada caucus had a lot fewer participants than Iowa.
Why do you need an app to count likely less than 20,000 votes statewide?!
Just use frigging paper and pencils.
1976 - results same day
2020 - not so much
Let them go and rig it....the DNC is destroying themselves and their credibility....especially with Sanders supporters.
The DNC has sought to distance itself from the Iowa debacle. Now a Democratic source provided CNN-News with access to the app contract.
The Iowa Caucus contract reveals that while (A) The Iowa Democratic Party and (B) the app maker Shadow were signatories to the contract, the deal specifies that the app makers must "work with the DNC Services Corporation/Democratic National Committee ('DNC') on an on-going basis as Consultant develops the software."
The contract outlines:
<><> how the DNC would be intimately involved in multiple aspects of securing the app,
<><> including Shadow providing "continual DNC access" to review the Consultant's system configurations,
<><> DNC would review security and system logs, system designs, data flow designs,
<><> DNC would monitor security controls (preventative and detective),
<><> DNC would oversee operational plans for how the Consultant will use and run the Software
<><> DNC would be in on informational dissemination, pre-registration, tabulation, and,
<><> DNC would field reports throughout the caucus process.

Iowa Democrats pride themselves as being on the cutting edge of a youthful computer culture......a pastoral Silicone Valley, as it were.
But the recent caucus flopola highlighted Democrats' lack simple arithmetic skills......and an inability to simply count votes.
Dems understanding of the cyber world is a huge post-Iowa joke. Taxpayers remember only too well:
<><> the 2013 meltdown of the billion dollar Obamacare website,
<><> the abject failure of Hillary Clinton's supposedly sophisticated 2016 campaign analytics,
<><> the incompetence of supposedly tech-driven 2016 polling.

LAST FALL, Iowas Republican and Democratic Parties, and web development vendors, examined the app the Iowa Democratic Party commissioned to tabulate and report caucus results, partnering with (cough) Harvards Defending Digital Democracy Project to develop strategies and systems to protect results and deal with misinformation.
The Harvard group included "party campaign experts Robby Mook and Matt Rhodes, and experts in (A) cybersecurity, (B) national security, (C) technology and (D) election administration.
Fortuitously, the group simulated different ways things could go wrong on caucus night. (cue maniacal laugh machine here).
Mook is 2016 campaign manager for Hillary Clinton, and Rhodes is Mitt Romneys 2012 campaign manager. Out of sheer public-spiritededness, these two helped develop a video to alert campaigns to warning signs of hacking and misinformation.
THAT WAS THEN-THIS IS NOW-REVISIONIST IOWA DEMOCRATS DEFEND THE DEBACLE
The app the Iowa Democratic Party commissioned to tabulate and report results from the caucuses on Monday was not properly tested, people briefed on the app by the state party told newspapers."
" It was quickly put together in just the past two months, said the people, who asked to remain anonymous because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
Iowa state Democrats decided to use the app only after another proposal for reporting votes which entailed caucus participants phoning in their votes was abandoned, on the advice of DNC officials, according to David Jefferson, a board member of Verified Voting, a nonpartisan election integrity organization.
LOL!! Democrats NORTH STAR is CHEATING!! BALLOT HARVESTING and VOTE FRAUD!!!!
Meanwhile, the GOP results come in the same day just fine. No problems what-so-ever. I wonder why that is?
They are still counting over a low-value small state caucus where the outcome is known (delegates have been assigned) but for bragging rights (did Bernie or Pete come out a few hundreths of a precent ahead in the vote tally).
Can anyone imagine how long they’d count and recount a Presidential election if the National Popular Vote Compact ever came to pass?
65 million people voted for Hillary in 2016, but apparently no math majors.
