She won the Republican primary, yes, with over 4k votes. Unfortunately Mfume won the Democrat primary with 29k votes.
Democrat primary totals approximately 65k votes. Republican primary totals approximately 10k votes.
In 2018, Cummings won, 202k-56k (77%-21%).
In 2016, Cummings won, 238k-69k (75%-22%).
The special election between Klacik and Mfume will be held April 28, the same day as the Maryland presidential primary. The presidential race may be over by then or not. If not, I would expect fairly heavy Democrat turnout.
I think if nothing else, hope she wins, but she is practicing for perhaps Senate run, Lt Gov perhaps or spot in 2020 Trump admin.
