All politics is local!
In today’s over polled and over focus group world politicians know exactly what the voters want to hear. They also know what they want their politicians to look like.
You don’t become a congressman by just deciding one day you will run for office. It is more than likely the Political Party finds you.
Consider the political party is a match maker. They will match and individual with a district. The politician will say and do what ever it takes to win. Once they get to congress they do what their paymasters (and that is not the taxpayers) want them to say or do.
I don’t for a moment believe Sheila Jackson Lee is stupid. She may be ignorant on a few things but at the end of the day she is doing what the voters in her District expect her to do - Bring up race at every opportunity.
So don’t expect her to be voted out of office any time soon.
