This reads in part as though written by a Harvard Lampoon contributor:

The complainant said she was 16 and a ‘vulnerable’ and ‘troubled’ girl when she was raped outside the former Midland Shire Farmers building in The Butts in July 1998. But the 43-year-old defendant of Dilmore Lane, Fernhill Heath, denies rape.

The complainant, now in her late 30s, said she ‘legged it’ down the shopping centre escalator ‘chased’ by the defendant’s wife, describing herself as ‘terrified’, running into the mobility scooter shop and telling them to call police.

Age of consent is 16 in England so she gave consent? 23 years is a long time not to say anything.
