President Donald Trump appears to be on easy street when it comes to his potential re-election. In fact, his chances are so good that even liberal talking-head Chris Matthews was forced to admit that the president is sitting pretty leading up to November.
During MSNBC’s day-long coverage of the impeachment trial, the “Hardball” host decided to take a moment to “put it all together” for the audience. Unfortunately, it may not be what the left-leaning group of listeners wants to hear.
First, Matthews pointed out the increasing popularity of self-avowed Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, who was recently involved in a short-lived spat with fellow socialist Elizabeth Warren over alleged remarks he had made regarding the ability of women to win the presidency in the United States.
“Bernie’s rising,” Matthews reported. “Bernie’s gonna do very well — I’ve been saying this for two weeks. He’s gonna win the first couple. He’s rising.”
While that may seem like a bad thing for supporters of the current president, Matthews explains that a Bernie boost at this point is proof positive that Trump may have an easier time coasting back to the Oval Office than anyone expected.
“That’s telling the Republicans they’ve got a good shot at re-electing this president whether they like him or not,” he continued. “They’re facing a future of hell if they go to war with Trump right now.”
He also pointed out the “20,000” people who attended the Trump rally in Wildwood, New Jersey Tuesday night, calling it an “incredible show.”
“I’ve talked to somebody about Pennsylvania who knows a lot about Pennsylvania … registration is going through the roof up there with Republicans,” Matthews continued. “And there’s issues like fracking, which will kill for at least two of the Democratic candidates up there.
“There’s so many things moving in Trump’s direction — the latest Real Clear Politics numbers on him are moving up. I don’t know why exactly, but there’s something that makes people — if I’m a Republican and I’m saying, ‘Damn it, there’s only one party. It’s called the Trump Party and I’ve got to live there.”

So I guess that means that you and your MSM friends have utterly wasted their time over the last four years.
All you've accomplished is to demonstrate that you have no power and no influence, except over brain-dead idiots who shout at the sky and wear funny hats.

Most the time, when Chris Matthews and Michael Moore make these sort of electoral predictions, they end up being correct. Mike Moore also thinks Trump will be re-elected, much to his dismay.
I actually used to like watching Chris Matthews Harball back in the day as he did seem to have a clear mind on the politics of politics, but somewhere along the way he became an outright shill (seems like a lot of things went crazy around the time Obama’s terms where going on). Or maybe I just didn’t see it before then.
Pray Bernie doesn’t win the dim nomination. He’s way too old and has already had at least one heart attack. No way can he keep up with the energetic Trump and I’d hate to see Bernie all stiff and propped up by the jukebox. Biden’s also too old. He’s already saying he might die in office if elected. AOC’s too young and Buttigiggle too weird (in a queer sort of way). They have no one they can run against Trump. Might as well bring back the old hag and let her take the fall—again.
I also used to watch a Chris Mathews on Hardball 20 years ago really enjoyed his show I don’t know what the hell happened to him CANT STAND him now!!!
I understand how you feel - Chris Matthews used to care about traditional Americans - people who worked for a living. Then he changed - became more interested in all the weird politically correct stuff... and antifa thugs.

No. You’re right. A lot of people I used to see as logical, sensible and patriotic suddenly seemed to fall under a hypnotic spell when it came to Obama.
It was like one of those old movies where your best friends all begin turning into Zombies and chanting the same vapid slogans.
