You can’t answer why you don’t believe her, beyond “sluts lie,” I have asked you for evidence specific to this case that she lied, and you have provided none. Therefore, you are confident, she’s a slut, and sluts lie. You persist in this position despite the fact that Bryant admitted she thought it was rape, and paid an out of court settlement (of unknown size) to her. Would you behave this way if you were falsely accused of rape?

I on the contrary look at such evidence as is available before I decide. In the Kavanaugh case, we know that his accuser co-authored medical-journal articles indicating the effectiveness of abortifacients, and that some of the claims she made about the facts of the assault and its after-effects were either unsupported, or falsified by the evidence. Therefore I think she lied, and that it was good that Mr. Kavanaugh was confirmed. (Because I think carefully about the evidence before I render judgment, I am not yet convinced that Mr, Kavanaugh will be a good justice. But I am confident that he was maligned.)

I have grown lamentably confident over the years that critical thinking is hard, and that Americans are not very good at it, Don’t use lazy mental models to judge reality. Look at the facts of the issue in question. This is how critical thinking works. I think that the facts of this case in total indicate that one should dubious that Bryant did not rape this woman, slut or not. Do you think he absolutely did not? What do you think, exactly?

I think on at least this occasion, and possibly more, Kobe Bryant raped a woman, and this is disgraceful. Why do you think differently?
