I think long-term Trump will be founding a new party. But he can’t say that right now as he needs to keep people like McConnell and Lindsay Graham onboard.

**************

I hope and pray that is his long term plan. Otherwise I don’t see much reason for optimism as the GOP is never going to be a party of convictions that fights for the conservative agenda.

"I think long-term Trump will be founding a new party."

I agree! My fondest wish. :)

That same thought has crossed my mind, often.

MAGA Party?

KAG Party?

The one thing I would miss about the GOP is the elephant.
Highly intelligent animals.

What I really see is a reborn, populist GOP. Political parties do change over the years. Truman and JFK would have no place in today’s CommieRAT party.

I have the impression that Trump has already created a new party.

I don't feel any there is any common ground for me with the GOP. I lost that feeling long before Trump ran for the nomination.

I'm pretty sure the GOP was a dead letter before Trump even ran for office. His election is the coup de grace
