Lawmakers who normally relish bloviating on the Senate floor will be forced to remain silent throughout every session of the impeachment trial of President Trump when it begins Tuesday — and will be required to attend sessions six days a week, including Saturdays, for the duration.
“That’s going to suck,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) told CNN. “I guarantee you it’s going to be hard,” he said, adding jokingly, “but I think we’ll survive.”
Senators who love the media limelight could find the enforced silence frustrating, some of them predicted.

I have not heard from anyone what the penalty is for senators who step up to a microphone after leaving the proceedings. I honestly can’t believe they are going to be able to resist (especially on the Dem side). Does the SCOTUS have jurisdiction since Roberts did the swearing in?
Republican senators should be able to watch golf during the circus, same as democrats in the first clown show. The verdict then was a foregone conclusion and it won’t be any different now, so why pretend?
