I don’t know how they’ve managed to make beards look girly but they have. Give it a minute, even this lone indicator of testosterone will end up dyed purple and rolled up into a bun. It has to be estrogen in urban water supplies. Nothing else makes sense.

Well I guess I'll be unattractive then. I grew a beard once in my late 20’s, absolutely hated it, it was uncomfortable and a pain to keep clean. I shaved it off and have not had as much as a stray whisker in the last 25 years.

My guess is the length of the beard makes a lot of differences. I think previous studies have shown long stubble to short-cropped beards doing best with the ladies.

Not quite on topic, but it seems the veterans of today (late 20s-early 30s) have traded one uniform for another. The new uniform is:
Shaved head
GIGANTIC beard
Arms covered in tattoos
Grunt Style T-shirt 2 sizes too small

As I type this, I'm wearing a Grunt Style hoodie that fits comfortably. my hair's pretty short, I haven't shaved for a couple of days but I will before I go to work tonight. NO tattoos.

Personally I think close cropped beards look good on the younger men. Older guys with grey maybe not so much. I grow weekend or a few days scruff in winter then shave it off. Beards in hot weather— nope. Seems some women like beards and others do not. Personal preferences.

Depends on the man, depends on the beard. A short, neatly-trimmed beard can be very attractive. A Duck Dynasty type beard, not so much.

Having said that, my beloved Mr. Inspectorette never grew a beard, but he did have a very dashing 'stache.
