Your reporting the royal marriages of first cousins and close cousins just buffers present day observation of the “incestuous” royals and how nutty they actually are. Current case in point, look what this bloodline has foisted on British society as their rulers (examples, Charles, Harry, Andrew, etc., etc.).
The dowry and chaperoning rules almost push people that way.
Marry a paternal first cousin, and there’s rarely a dowry. Two brothers swap sisters, and there is no dowry. Free brides for everyone.
There is some protection for the woman when they marry a male cousin. She probably remains in the same family compound as her father and mother, so she has more family to protect her than if she marries a stranger. She also has more potential chaperones like brothers and her father if her husband won’t take her out.
The chaperoning system means she has to be out with a man who is related. The cousin is the only man that can both chaperone and marry her. That’s the only man she can “date”. It leads to more marriages.
What makes things so much worse is that the patrilineal marriages pretty much have to repeat to keep the benefits. So it isn’t one generation of cousins marrying - it may be several where there is rarely a new addition to the gene pool.
The Queen & Prince Philip are third cousins once removed through one common ancestor, and fourth cousins through another. That’s a pretty distant relationship.
What’s more is there are deaf people (lesbians no less) Who set out to create a child who was deaf at birth.

I have no idea how this will turn out. The slope was gone on this centuries ago. First West Virginia has everyone related and many other southern states as well. Justice Scalia predicted that the homosexual rights cases would be used to demolish state prohibitions on incestuous marriage, polygamy, etc. If, as the LGBT crowd tells us, “all love is equal” and people have the right to marry whomever they want, then what logical justification is there for excluding the practitioners of incest and polygamy?

this is the thing about our old cultural rules....they were all based on what is good for civilization and for health....
homosexual sex,sex between family members, sex with animals or dead people are all BAD for our general health as a civilization....
a good civilization needs healthy non family people to BREED the regular normal way
but we're beyond the precipice...we've not breeding, people having sex with their computers or their dogs.....no children being produced....and sadly many of the children being produced are in chaotic mal functioning homes...
