Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is meeting again with head coach Jason Garrett on Tuesday. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two are scheduled to meet at noon CT and while a resolution is "likely," it is "not definite."

"Expectation continues to be Garrett and Dallas will part ways," Schefter notes. "But the Cowboys are run as a family, Garrett has been a part of family, and it’s hard to part ways."

A number of other teams have already made decisions regarding their futures. Since the conclusion of Week 17, the Browns have fired Freddie Kitchens and the Giants have dismissed Pat Shurmur. The Jaguars have decided to retain Doug Marrone and the Redskins have reportedly hired Ron Rivera to be their next head coach.

One sports commentator about 3 games ago said that even getting TO the Superbowl would not save Garrett’s job — only winning the Superbowl would.

It has been a long drought for the Cowboys.

This is how long it's been since I followed the Cowboys, or the NFL for that matter.

The question is, not who do you fire, but rather who do you hire?

“A lot of people want jerry jones pushed out.”

If they write Jerry a $5.6 billion check, they can push him out.

Leave Garrett alone and let him select his own coaching staff. Garrett had his coaches foisted upon him by Jerry Jones. It is nearly impossible to run a team if your coaches aren’t of your own choice.

Garrett is a good coach. A team plagued by injuries all season and coaches who “may” have other agendas will not fix the situation. Also, the way I look at football today, wide receivers seem to be the ones causing the most internal team problems. If that is truly the case, hiring an Antonio Brown for 3-4 games would have helped the Cowboys and at the end of the season, you have a discussion as to whether he wants to be part of the family or a hired gun.

Jones strolled in and fired Landry with zero respect. After his tenure and record, he could have easily let him announce he was retiring and done something respectful for him.

Jones ruined a good thing. Then the clown kneeled.

Cowboys is not a family.
Your company is not a family.

If your boss says the company is a family, he is incestuous and tell him you want to borrow the family car to go out Saturday night.

Every NFL team is plagued by injuries.

Jones is an idiot, but he doesn’t get all the blame for Landry. From my reading, the previous ownership wanted to dump Landry in 1987. It was probably time - Landry’s defensive philosophy was way outdated. But Tom Landry was a class act and should not have been dumped that way.

Meyer; I hope, is too smart to line up with Jerry as long as he insists on being the GM for the Cowboys.
