With all due respect, things like Rational Emotive Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy belong in the same category as self-help books. They might help some people, but they aren’t built on some universal mechanistic understanding of behavior or neuroscience.
Psychiatry or psychology?
A psychiatry is a graduate\professional (That fact in itself doesn’t validate it!) degree that requires a MD - medical degree first. A psychology degree you can get at the undergraduate - batchelor degree level. Nowadays they’re handed out like Snickers’ bars on Halloween. Very little intellectual rigor & because it’s such a no work degree the most popular on the modern campus.
HR personnel with psychology BSs doesn’t suprise me.
my opinion is that demacrat come in two types criminals and individuals that are not deep thinkers. they might be able to spout off information but they do not have an understanding of the information that allows them to see how that information works in a way other then how they have been told it works.. so yes I would stayaway from a libral psychologist or psychiatrist. they don understand the very tools they are using or they don’t have your interests in mind while treating you.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy must be after my time. As for Rational Emotive Therapy, it is, in fact, built on a universal principle, which is why it works. People are made better on a permanent basis.
