Not with that chicken wing arm sticking out. Maybe back then they didn’t teach you not to do that.

No more chicken wing. Now we are instructed to relax elbow and tuck it in. Helps for easier aiming in tight quarters and allows longer aim times before becoming shaky.
Shotgunning at skeet, trap and hunting is different. You want the chicken wing and tight shoulder muscles to allow better tracking.

Or from NRA instructors. Or her Dad, who had military experience. Remember in ‘62, no one had military experience, or much other type, with the AR-15 platform.
