Barnard freshman Tessa Majors was stabbed to death a few days ago in a park near her college campus. The tragic crime happened on the steps of a park where Majors encountered three young teens who attend a middle school nearby:
The New York Post reported that Tessa Majors, 18, was discovered by a school security guard inside Morningside Park near West 116th Street and Morningside Drive around 5:30 p.m. She had been beaten and stabbed by a group of three or four men at the base of some stairs. Majors was taken to the local hospital but didnt make it.
The shocking murder is even more unbelievable because the suspects are middle schoolers.
The 13-year-old Zyairr Davis was arrested last week and charged in family court with felony murder.
One of the suspects who is just 14-years-old was being taken from middle school by an adult to the police station to turn himself in to investigators when he jumped out of the car and ran away.
The police are aggressively searching for the suspect who investigators are saying was the one who wielded the knife in the attack.
The Editorial Board of the New York Post wrote a blistering piece discussing whats wrong with how the city is doing things:
New York needs to look hard at how middle schoolers became killers:
The city has drastically relaxed its school discipline codes under Mayor Bill de Blasio, often offering mere counseling even in the case of violence. That surely sends the wrong message.
Other reforms likely have their own unintended consequences. By easing juvenile penalties, the states Raise the Age law may well have invited a rise in juvenile crime.
Indeed, the decriminalization of low-level offenses has plainly brought a greater sense of public disorder, which will surely foster more high-level crimes if the NYPD cant respond rapidly enough to spikes in serious offenses.
I guess he was being taken to the police station in some school system car and wasn’t handcuffed in a police car.
At work I have some pretty snappy comebacks.
He was being driven to the popo station to turn himself in when he had a change of heart. In these cases it’s always a civilian who accompanies the accused to turn himself in, not the police.
Not exactly, but thanks for playing. Only a miniscule number of the people lynched had committed any crime.
I hope this feral animal’s parents will be facing charges for unleashing this monster on the general public.
Democrats “easing juvenile penalties” leads to death of white girl. Why would New York think anything “wrong” happened here?
“Not exactly, but thanks for playing. Only a miniscule number of the people lynched had committed any crime.”
- Complete Horsesh*t!
She had been beaten and stabbed by a group of three or four men...the suspects are middle schoolers. What happened to "teens"? Fourteen year olds got promoted to "men"?
Really? They must be pretty dense if they can' figure that out.
Liberals are pretty much clueless when it comes to common sense issues.................
But I firmly believe that some are unreformable. How to deal with them? You tell me, Einstein.
SPJNK.
The simple way to reduce minorities in prison: wipe the law books clean of the violent crimes they commit. Give the criminals a hug when they do something wrong and tell them not to do it again. Make excuses for them to the public and cover for them in the media. Repeat as necessary.
Spanking the kid at home is domestic violence, depriving them of their cellphone is child abuse, I wonder where we went wrong?
We used to have reformatories for kids like this. It was their first taste of prison. Most didn’t want to go back.
He’s a juvenile and hasn’t been arrested yet...those are ostensibly the reasons there’s no photo...(not that you need one, anyway)...
Where did you get the idea the suspects aren’t black?
Sometimes I don’t think too well.
What you've posted are decidedly middle class attitudes. Some children raised by parents who think the way you've described way may be snotty and have discipline problems - perhaps severe discipline problems, in some cases — but almost none plot during school hours to rob people right after school and end up jumping young women from behind and stabbing them to death. You can bet the thugs who committed this murder have been reared in chaotic households where “spanking” means getting smacked by Mama's latest boyfriend whenever he's drunk. Their families are probably on welfare, yet consistently come up with cash for cell phones and Nike sneakers. Am I saying these young teens are not responsible for their actions? No; most of the kids growing up that way don't go around stabbing people. These particular boys happen to be innately violent and probably have low-IQs, although low on the normal range; they are not intellectually disabled, though their lawyers may try to argue they are down the road.
The parents you've described may be naive and obnoxious, but visit certain neighborhoods in NYC and you would be astounded at how minor the faults of the parents you've described are in comparison to those of the types of the people who pass for parents — well, mothers, as the fathers are largely nonexistent — who are rearing the kids like the ones who murdered poor Tessa Majors.
Time to lower the age of criminal court to 13.
