Our Knights if Columbus council is lucky enough to help with the local Special Olympics bowling tournament each year. We each keep score and assist (if needed) a group of four bowlers.
I can’t tell you how much fun it is and how much I look forward to hanging out with these characters each year.
Bowling skills vary and one guy consistently scores on the mid 200s and has rolled several perfect games. Most are average or poor bowlers like me.
What they almost all have is a unique focus, completely free from distractions, that allows them to bowl very consistently. Above all, they have an unshakably fantastic attitude that is absolutely contagious.
We don’t get to pick our players but I find myself bonding each year with my group. They are not all DS but they are all unique and really are special.
