I lost my Mom to smoking.
I really miss Her....damned cigarettes :-/
My youngest son, aged 48 has smoked since he was a teenager. This past April he had to have surgery for cancerous polyps in his colon. They took out two sections, and a bunch of lymph nodes. They also found a nodule on his lung, did a biopsy, and thankfully it was benign. He had chemo treatments every two weeks, from the early part of May to November 1st. His last scan was clear, but he's having residual neuropathy pain in his hands and feet. His doctor told him it could take up to three months for it to recede. He can't go back to work until the pain goes away. In the meantime, he still smokes. Not as much as he used to, but it kills me knowing that he hasn't been able to quit. I live in New York State. He lives in Indiana, so there's nothing I can do about it. I visited him in October for a couple of weeks, and simply told him that I didn't want to outlive my children. His older brother never smoked.
