I see this as significant and probably scary for Democrats that may be tuned into the election. Albany, GA demographics wise is probably close to 80% Black. School system 95% Black. Elected city officials have been Black for many many years. However, a White guy with IMHO is conservative goals wins the mayors election in a run-off. What I see as scary for traditional Dems is that lots of young Blacks were actively campaign for the White guy. Crime is rampant and infrastructure is falling apart, but in past elections that did not matter. Dems should be concerned.

Maybe they’ve been hearing their parents say “that white dude in the white house is doing a dam good job for a republican”.

Parents can influence kids’ thinking a lot.

And kids pick up on Everything.

This would be a good thing.

Also, for some not nearly all of course, the gangsta attitude of Trump not taking anything from anyone helps.

And his attempts to return God to the country in a bigger way can’t hurt with religious blacks.

Just a bunch of different angles to chew on.

Even if I may be wrong on all of them :)

African Americans in Albany, GA are following principles enunciated by Dr King. (judge by content of character etc)

"African Americans in Albany, GA are following principles enunciated by Dr King. (judge by content of character etc)"

It was the young college age AA kids that voted and campaigned for him. The older generation was overwhelmingly supporting the incumbent.

Obviously you have never been to Albany Georgia. The only thing that Dr King is used for is leverage to get what they want. Albany is a cesspool that is regularly in the running for murder per capita capital of the US. Dorothy Hubbard is a horrible useless idiot who fit right in. Bo Dorough is only a couple of steps up.

Albany was my 2nd home. It use to be the most beautiful city with great people. Most of my mom’s side of the family lived there and now I only have one cousin and aunt left there and a few cousins in Leesburg. I have such fond memories of the yearly visits to the city along with the fun at Blackshear, Doublegate, the Catfish restaurant on Kinchafoonee Creek, and hanging out at my grandfather and uncle’s workplace, Pritchett Ford. Albany was one of the best parts of my childhood.

When one of your major thoroughfares is “Slappy Boulevard” you know that you are too close to Florida.

I would say, “Atl is more Chicago than Georgia. Athens might be more California than Georgia. And then again, everyone may be right about the State of Georgia. The place has got a lot of diversity.

Reverse affirmative action - instead of “Put the black guy in charge because he’s black” it’s become “Put the white guy in charge because he knows what he’s doing”...

A place my dad took us to in the 1950’s.

Best hotdogs in the world.

Owned by Greeks to this day.

Went there in 2009. Every morning a bunch of very sweet black ladies cut up all the onions and condiments to get ready.

Still the best price for a delicious hot dog.

Albany has been run so poorly over the years. The hospital here seems to own the politicians. Albany Water, Gas& Light is hated by so many. I saw a sign in their office forbidding loud swearing and cursing. Through social media, many people are aware of the terrible mismanagement of money here. I voted and I’m very happy with the results.

Although, Bo Dorough sounds like a wild-eyed whacko new green deal type and a hard left environmentalist. His first interview all he talked about was solar farms and electric city busses.

Although, he can’t be worse that Hubbard.
