My immediate reaction upon reading the headline was “I bet he still ingests edibles.”
What I meant is Willie’s admission that years (decades) of pot smoking has damaged his vocal chords. Adversity affected his singing.
I saw him in Reno some years ago. He drank a quart of cuervo gold and smoked a joint on stage. He never missed a beat!
Perhaps not by coincidence, the threat of climate change has dissipated.
He’s 86. What’s the point? Might as well smoke and drink whatever he wants to. What else is he going to do? He’s at least 30 years past the point where quitting any of it would have made any difference.
It’s good to see that someone who is more cultured than I is on the board. I vaguely remember the song, but don’t remember the artist.

I ran into Willie when I was doing physical therapy 30 years ago. He was on Long Island for a concert and apparently went to this clinic for a workout on more than one occasion. The owner said to us, leave him alone, he’ll hang out when he’s done. Which he did. One idiosyncrasy was when he used the leg press machine, he would jump at the end.
