Maybe the U.S. courts intervened this time because the scam happened within U.S. borders.

Yep. I watch Dr. Phil by extension due to my wife’s affinity for the show. He constantly has women and men on that fall for these scams. Most of the time it takes a while for these people to be convinced its a scam.

P.T. Barnum was right I guess.
