DC Comics is under fire from Chinese fans over a Batman comic book poster that they perceive to be supportive of the ongoing Hong Kong protests.
DC shared artwork this week depicting Batman throwing a Molotov cocktail. This stark imagery is superimposed over bright pink text that reads: "The future is young."
The poster is being used to promote the December 11 release of DC Black Label comic book Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child, written by popular comic scribe Frank Miller. Black Label is a DC Comics imprint featuring titles for more mature audiences.

Nice artwork.
Too bad Miller isn’t doing the illustrating as well as the writing. He must be getting pretty old by now.
I would be offended right now at this female Batman, but seeing Frank Miller’s name on it made me feel better.
Since this is from Hollywood, it is more likely to represent support for Antifa and Anarchists in their resistance against Democracy and Freedom.
I inadvertently joined Hong Kong protests when I went to Blizzcon a few weeks ago. (Yes, I am a nerd.) I still have the t-shirt and protest sign that I displayed the whole time I was at the convention. I
I find some irony in the fact that so many people here support our friends in Hong Kong, while we have one of our major political parties engaged in trying to overthrow our form of government in favor of the same system the Hong Kongese are protesting against.
Oh, and I really do not like the anime “flavor” of that second poster. I really wish that fad would end.
“I inadvertently joined Hong Kong protests”
Good for you!
You only value your freedom once you have lost it. Hong Kong students understand this better than pampered American students.
That is so true. Freedom is so precious, and so many young people do not understand that.
People only appreciate it once it's gone. It can also be said that people under the age of 30 have never known what freedom tasted like. The mandated helmet-wearing, seatbelt-constrained, don't-go-outside, can't-operate-a-lawnmower-for-money, pointing-your-finger-will-get-you-arrested generation has no idea what they've missed.
Hell, I'm just getting old. Going to listen to a Radiohead CD and just Daydream of a freer time. No need to yell at people to get off my lawn because kids will all be inside their media cocoons instead of throwing the ball around today.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Judging from Miller's previous work, how he's called leftists "scum," and has gotten in trouble for other comments he's made, he's to the right of Attila the Hun politically.
