[for the 4-6 men on this thread, if you're going to wear a suit to impress in Washington or anywhere else, spend about $500 and plan $200 to get it properly tailored. A couple white shirts with French cuffs, and 3-4 ties, you'll be golden]

I would like to add, that, in Washington you should not wear a red tie with white lettering saying “Make America Great Again”, in a business situation.
