The legacy of the late Samuel Truett Cathy (1921-2014) was buried in Atlanta today. Cathy's three children, now sole owners of the privately-held Chick-fil-A restaurant and real estate empire, were conspicuously absent as CFA President Tim Tassopoulos publicly renounced their father's legacy of faithfulness to God in the face of conventional business practices.
Loyal supporter of Chick-fil-A have expressed stunned disappointment in the company's decision to withdraw its support for pro-family organizations such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The perception of many loyal CFA supporters is that Chick-fil-A's has surrendered to the false argument that equates "pro-family" with "anti-gay," and that now-abandoned pro-family ministries will face increasing attacks with diminishing resources.
Futher disappointment was expressed in Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's decision to wash his hands of the affair while his deputy made the official announcement to the media. Cathy siblings Trudy Cathy White and Chick-fil-A EVP Bubba Cathy also avoided comment on their company's sudden withdrawal from its longstanding leadership in Christian philanthropy.
God will not be amused. And their business will tank.

This is a huge mistake, not just for Chick-fil-A, but for every person and organization that gives to any cause opposed by the totalitarian Left. These people will not be appeased, they will be emboldened and use this victory to further intimidate both Chick-fil-A and anybody else that they care to target in the future.
