IF I was a car manufacturer, I would shut down my franchises/dealerships in that state and refuse to sell to them. After 2 or at most three did that, they would back off.

Supplier boycott won’t necessarily work. Chevrolet stopped production (dumb) of the Caprice (including those for taxis and cop cars) and Ford backfilled the demand with the Crown Vic and Mercury Marquis.

I’ve said for years that if a couple dozen major companies suddenly stopped all California operations, it wouldn’t take long for the people to revolt and sanity to once again take hold.

It’s not just California. Many organizations either voluntarily or by law are required to get criminal background checks for any employees or volunteers who work with children. Schools, day care, Sunday school, after school activities, sports teams, scouting groups etc.

It’s often a cost that the organization absorbs. Most states are reasonable at $10-20 for a check. In Pennsylvania, it’s over $120. How many volunteer non-profit organizations can afford that cost for every single volunteer?

Hey, you’d make a great nursery volunteer at church once every month or two. Cut us a check and fill out this form.
