I quit travelling to Mexico years ago. Got stung by a jellyfish and haven’t been swimming in the ocean since.

The waters around Reunion Island are among the most dangerous in the world as far as shark attacks, you’d have to be suicidal to swim there. This was a tiger shark, but the area is home to a large bull shark population also.

"The hand of a Scottish tourist...snorkeling off the French island of Réunion,...was found in the stomach of a tiger shark..."

Let's not jump to any conclusions here.
Maybe the hand was floating in the water and just happened to get ingested by the poor shark - heavens! he could have choked on it.

Or, the police might have planted that hand on/in the shark....

He can’t be identified yet someone recognized the wedding ring in the shark. Isn’t that a clue that next of kin are aware?

Many of us around the world can identify with the shark. We like Scottish food, too. Would you like fries with that?

Reunion Is. is facing the same problem as Cape Cod.
Govt. protecton of sharks has caused an increase in shark attacks on people.

On Reunion they banned shark fishing and as an Islander says:
Another theory is that the creation of the protected marine nature reserve along the west coast in 2007 is seen as a shark “garde-manger” – a food storage. In this area, certain water activities such as fishing, bathing, use of watercraft etc. can be regulated or prohibited as soon as they harm the ecosystem or its equilibrium. This marine park expands 40 km of coastline from “Cap la Houssaye” (Saint-Paul) to the “Roche aux oiseaux” (Étang-Salé) i.e. exactly where the beaches are located and where the majority of the attacks occurred. In conclusion, it’s pretty obvious and simple that Reunion Island has the perfect conditions for the booming development of sharks. - Tom
