I have had real good luck with refurbished computers. The one I am using right now is a refurbished Dell. I have been using it for a couple of years.

I get mine from Rakuten and they carry a warranty.

Sir, this post is a winner, if you can’t wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

I’ve bought a few Dell Refurbished PCs and would highly recommend them. A quality product.

I bought a refurbished laptop three years ago through Amazon — a Dell. IIRC, it was $200. The vendor was out of Tampa. Knock wood, but it’s been perfect. Windows 7.

There were several desktops, too.

I recommend that series as well, those things are awesome. Some gamers, put in a quad i7 and a decent GPU and turn it into a budget gaming rig

Those secretary boxes certainly were built nice

“3.8GHz Processor for $145.00.”

Wow. That is amazing. I remember saving for a Dell with 50Hz processor in 1997 and it was over a thousand dollars. 3.8GHz for $145. Wow.

In other news, the 1980 Space Shuttle had about twenty computer for auto-pilot and each computer had 1MB.

Need a good, free computer? Just walk around Berkeley on a weekend, since many people put their old computers on the sidewalks for free.

Thanks for the heads up on refurb desktops. I’m still a desktop man for power computing and extensive word processing. They seem to be good for about 4 years. These prices aren’t much more than the new copy of Windows 10. For mobile computing I’ve gone completely over to a 12.6 in I-pad. I keep a cheap external keyboard in my briefcase. $20 on amazon and it works fine. The same thing from Apple costs$150.
