Well, nobody can ever say that you aren’t a slow, slow learner.

You spewed crap about her, and I retorted in a similar (but less nasty than you had used) manner.

You are now attempting to escalate your and escalate until someone says that the unwarranted and fabricated attack on the people in the car that got hit.
Your whole Greta Thunberg “how dare you defend someone from my made up accusations” schtick isn’t flying.

And well it should not. I have seen metal hit the pavement and fly over two or three cars before coming down. Your assertion that the car that got hit had to have been following close is just pretty nasty to make...because the car does not have to have been following too close.

You’re a nasty, angry poster who wants to lash out at people who got into an accident on the freeway and you are demanding that people not call you on your unwarranted and unproven assertions.

Not happening, I’ve seen too many weird things happen on the road across the decades.

Not only will I not join you on your jibes at these people, I fully intend to call you out as long as you persist.

You never know, when your number is up.

The most common hauler up here [NEK] seems to be a logger, making time on the windy roads. It can be scary.

I know how you feel. It's one of those things that happens with such split-second speed, it takes a few minutes (sometimes longer) for it to sink in, and then your heart starts beating like a triphammer, you feel the blood drain from your face, and you feel like you're going to hyperventilate. You usually go through life thinking nothing bad is going to happen to you, and then when it does, it scares the hell out of you when you realize that you came thisclose to getting killed. It goes to show you that the concept of controlling your own destiny is ultimately a myth. If you're destined to get harpooned just driving down the road, get your skull cleaved by an airborne brake pad, or just choke on a cherry pit, it's gonna happen and there's nothing you can do about it when it does.

I’m glad you were not a Viking kebab. Back in the 90s, I was riding with some pals from fort Riley. We were cruising along minding our own business. A car passed us. There was a broken spike from a farming tractor implement laying on the road. I’d say it was like one of those giant rakes that are mounted in the back of the tractor. I’m. Sure some one here can tell me exactly what it was.
Anyway the car tires pick up the spike and flings it perfectly at us with the sharp side toward us. It hit right under the hood and just at the grill. A few degrees higher and it could have gone thru the windshield and hit the driver square in the chest or face. Close but God was watching out for us.

I’ve seen a wheel bouncing down a highway from someone’s vehicle. Fully inflated, still on the rim. You know it had a lot of energy. Fortunately no one was hurt. Funny thing is I used to wonder what a loose tire on the road would look like. Now I know.

Amen. Whether it be divine intervention, the laws of physics, or just random luck, a lot of us have dodged getting our tickets punched. Then, there are those who earn a spot on the candidacy list for a Darwin Award........LOL!

An almost identical incident happened here in northern Virginia about 30 years ago.

In that case, a family was returning from a fishing trip in their pickup truck towing a small boat. They had just crossed the Wilson Bridge on I-95 South coming into Virginia from Maryland. A tractor trailer going north into Maryland on I-95 had a brake failure as it approached the bridge.

The failure resulted in the brake drum exploding and the remains of the brake assembly catching fire. A large, heavy fragment from the drum (maybe 10-15 lbs.) was violently ejected onto the roadway, ricocheted up into the air, arced over the jersey barrier wall separating the opposing lanes of I-95, and struck the southbound pickup’s windshield dead center. The fragment passed through the windshield and struck the mother in the head, killing her instantly. She was sitting between her husband and son, who were untouched.

The police almost immediately found the semi-tractor trailer rig pulled over to the shoulder in Maryland with the driver trying to put out the brake fire.

Log trucks are notorious for losing their loads. Always give them a WIDE berth.

How awful! A female friend’s fiancee was a tow truck driver. He was called out to tow a car and asked the owner if the cam shaft had been removed. The man said yes and he proceeded down I-95 with the car. It turns out that the cam shaft was still in the car. It dropped onto the road, bounced, and decapitated a man driving his two children home from Philadelphia. His 12 year old daughter had the presence of mind to climb into the front seat and stop the car. God only knows how they cope.

I love watching Russian car cam videos. The only way I would feel safe on a Russian road is in a tank.

It’s amazing how many tires fly off the vehicles and how angry drivers will fight each other right in the middle of the road. Considering the way many Russians drive, there is no way I would be fighting someone in the middle of traffic.

It’s also amusing how many Russians have baseball bats and other weapons in their trunks, specifically for road rage incidents.

Getting back to the subject of this thread, there is a harrowing video from Russia where a husband and wife were driving their friends to the airport. The friends were sitting in the back and the wife was in the passenger seat.

They were driving without incident until they met a truck carrying a load of bricks. Suddenly, a brick came flying at their car, went through the windshield and struck the wife in the head. She died a little later at a hospital.

Luckily, the video doesn’t show the wife but the husband’s screams and cries are heart wrenching. I saw a picture of her and she was young and beautiful. So sad.

Here is the link to the video. Warning: It is disturbing.

This incident was terrible but this woman got off lucky.

This accident reminded me of a horrific Russian dash cam video in which a brick flies off a truck, goes through the windshield of an oncoming car and hits a young woman in the head. The woman died at the hospital.

Here is the link to the video. The screams and cries of her husband are heartbreaking.

I knew someone killed by something flying out of the back of a truck hauling tires. Think it was a tire if I remember correctly. Went right through the window and killed him.

“here are people getting that the driver was a “she”?....”

I’d start with the headline that calls her a “woman”, but the pictures also help.
