Didn’t Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt perform in a period piece film with this sort of theme? About 30 years ago. I recall heavy make up and colonial costumes.

That would be “Interview with the Vampire.” Not a bad film and not “too” gay.

Interview With the Vampire. They didn't say or show that the vampires were gay, but that was something some people took away from the picture.

BBC shows were primitive back in the 60s. They got to be very good in the 80s. Now they are remaking the same material for the third time and it's usually junk.

They weren't going to make a better Brideshead Revisted and couldn't outdo possibly the movie versions of A Room With a View or Howard's End. Diminishing returns.

Of course, there's a gay angle to everything now, but even without that, the stuff isn't that good.
