My wife went to Italy when she was in her twenties. She got her butt pinched a lot.

I had a professor in college, an older British gent. He told us that his daughter had the same experience. Went to Italy and was constantly being pinched, whistled at and catcalled. He said she expressed her displeasure.

"Then again..." he said after a pause, ".....if she had gone to Italy and NOT been pinched and catcalled, I rather suspect that she would have been quite disappointed."
