I’m pretty sure these events are overwhelmingly attended by Single mothers with a personality disorder, so the father is usually never present to object.

I saw pictures in local news in one of the most conservative areas in the country about one of those story hours. Every adult attendee was a woman, including every single mother there. The only male in the room was the crossdresser. The fathers had obviously already been tossed out of their kids’ lives or were never involved to begin with.
