Windows 10 could be better if only Microsoft got rid of its layers of made-men, according to a former Microsoft distinguished engineer.
Tired of boring, buggy Windows 10 updates? You can blame them on Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's failure to eliminate the company's legacy of appointing "made-men".

That and Global Warming....................
Windows 10 is great. All the Windows 7 and Windows XP holdovers can feel smart, and the Linux people can go have fun too, but the reality is that Windows 10 (and Windows Server 2019) are far and away the best OS’s out there, especially for business use.
One word...the same one that damaged Intel.

29 years here.
Win10 is buggy bloatware.
You sound like a fan boy.
My daughter gave me her old laptop with Linux installed. And I’ve gotta say, I’m liking it more and more.
You could go to Apple or some other UNIX.
You’ve never turned your Windows 10 computer on and had to wait for it to update before you could use it?
and you sound like you don’t know what you are doing...

Do you know which Linux distribution (which Linux OS) it is? I would guess Mint, which is fairly common for new users to try.
New all=in-one with Windows 10 also comes with “cloud storage” where everything you put in documents or pictures is stored in the cloud for you and they ask you to sign up for a monthly hosting charge as soon as your “cloud storage” goes over a small trial amount... even if you never asked for it and have 1TB of data storage locally.
I am beyond pissed about this. Found out after buying the HP all-in-one.
Next computer is Linux for sure.

You forgot “and non-stop, all-invasive spyware”. Takes a lot of doing just to get it down to where it’s snooping and tracking is only slightly below CIA level.
I've used Win 7 for eight years, and I'm quite comfortable with it. It was inevitable that it's support would come to an end. It was the last Windows OS I used at work. Since we're retired, I don't have the urge to keep upgrading our PCs to match up with our work environments. And while I probably could make the switch to Linux (at least for Internet and financial accounts access), I highly doubt I can get my wife to use it. Fortunately, she has a rare need to be on a PC.
Bullcrap. I am a very happy Windows 10 user (8 installed Pcs with zero problems), and very happy MSFT shareholder (all-time highs).
Turbotax has an online version which is what you should use. It does not matter what version of windows you have. It only matters that you have a modern browser.
But if you use Windows, I suggest you use Windows 10. Its far better than 7. It does have some issues. But you need to change your search to DUCKDUCKGO. And you need to use Foxpro as a browser. There are other products out there. But stay away from Microsoft and Google products.
Microsoft seems to have a tie-in with some of our auto manufacturers in that each years “new & improved” is worse or way worse than what they had before.
That's not what I've read, or at least what I thought I read. It sounds like even the online version of TurboTax will be unavailable after 1/4/20 for Win 7 users.
A couple hundred W10 units here.
The first few months getting 10 to work normally had its share of bizarre problems.
Now, a 10 flake out is not very common.
