I read a piece about a decade ago that said that only one play out of six will ever make it to the big league level, and half of them will be out of baseball within three years of that achievement.
Personally, I don’t see a reason to have A, AA, and AAA all existing. I would dump the A-league entirely. I do agree that entry and food prices are very fair at minor league games, and you could take an entire family of four out for less than $60 (to include food and drinks). I will also note that parking is always free, and that the safety environment of almost all minor league parks is fantastic.
I would suggest that most talented players who go the community college or university route...only need a year or two at AAA-level....to make it onto the major leagues. I suspect if we did the numbers...more than two-thirds of players in the big leagues of today...are the college-path type players.
Not at the Salisbury, MD park, at least not in 2012 when I paid 3 bucks to park.
I also paid $1 to park at Scranton, PA's park for a game in 1995.

Yep. Unless the player is a first round or sandwich pick, the chances of ever appearing in the majors is less than 50%. No business wants that kind of fruitless overhead.
Independent leagues will probably expand to take advantage of dreamers, and theyre fun too.
