Maybe they should never have done away with the Guillotine. It was quick, and worked every time it was tried. To keep it humane, they just needed to keep the blade sharp. 😁 Or, they could just Gary Gilmore them. 👍 I guess, to keep that humane, they should aim for the head. It’s all over in a fraction of a second.
Then, the other side of the argument is, they are trying to kill the dude. There is nothing humane about offing some guy. 👎

The first use of the electric chair was grotesque. Lawyers have argued that convicts exhibit painful death throes from lethal injections.

Dog pounds use nitrogen asphyxiation. Painless and safe for prison staff, no toxic materials merely biological waste. Giving the convicts knock out drugs to ease the transition is fine with me.

A guillotine allows for the possibility that the exécutée remains conscious for a few seconds after beheading, before lack of oxygen kicks in. To be more humane, the exécutée would need to be anesthetized prior to the beheading.

Animal researchers use guillotines. They always anesthetize the animals first.

I once had a guillotine in my office. Finally, after I complained several times, some animal caretakers removed the guillotine. The huge hammers, however, remained in my office until I left.
