Growing up in northern Illinois, I (and my family and friends) lived and died on Sunday with our Chicago Bears. Butkis, Sayers, Ditka, Payton, McMahon...now, you could put a gun to my head and I couldn’t name a player. I haven’t watched a game in three years. It started with the revelation the DOD was paying the league for all the Armed Forces ‘Salutes’ and the coffin nail was the National Anthem mess. I’m done, and don’t miss it...
I don’t either.
My Grandpa started taking me to Saints games when I was 6.
He was president of the Charlie’s Saints Marching Club, and he would always dress up like a clown with a paper mache horse and parade with the Club after every Saints loss, which were myriad :D
After the Saints finally won their Superbowl in 2010, I looked up to David’s cloud and I said, Grandpa, they finally did it! And we were happy and drunk.
David and I no longer watch our team or this game. It was destroyed by hateful Leftist politics.
Yes, you missed out since ‘94.
Yankees won 4 of 6 WS actually that decade...90s-2000s Yankees
1996, 1998, 1999, 2000-Won
2001, 2003-Lost
I missed nothing. Saw it all. The poster I was talking was the one that quit baseball after the strike.
