Furious Londoners turned on Extinction Rebellion today with crowds of commuters dragging protesters down from the roofs of Tube carriages to rough them up on the station platform, while online the group was slammed for comparing its actions to those of civil rights legend Rosa Parks.

As their eco-protest enters its 11th day XR activists launched a co-ordinated strike on three London Underground stations, clambering on top of carriages and glueing themselves to doors despite Monday's city-wide ban issued by the Met Police.

But their efforts to disrupt public transport were met with a furious backlash from commuters, industry groups and politicians leading one XR spokesman to admit the move had been a 'huge own goal'.

A hastily-deleted tweet comparing themselves to icon of the nonviolent black civil rights movement, Rosa Parks, was also met with opprobrium from social media users.

Okay, so perhaps the Extinction Rebellion loonies didn't think this plan through very thoroughly...

A severe beating inflicted on these “protestors” would have sent an excellent message to all such Neo-marxists, Soros community organizers, and snowflakes.

They don’t fear police and government, because they are implanted deep within it - but a newfound fear of the public would do great things for society

Worth repeating:

What a delightful, heart warming story to start the day! Reminds me of the days when a staple of American journalism was filler stories about British eccentricism. (”Ain’t them English crazy?” was a genre.)

This is even better than a story about a chap in the Cotswold who has devoted his life to his butterfly collection.

People who think mankind will go extinct due to global warming. But remember, these are the same people who don’t know the difference between a boy and a girl.

One solution would be to make taller carriages or lower the tunnel’s roof.

It being the UK the class interest is a little more visible here. What we had here were wealthy, middle- and upper-class econazi cultists targeting the working class, and that's an express lane to a butt-kicking. This guy, for example:

The 36-year-old was chased along a train roof before being pulled down onto the platform. He describes himself as a full-time Extinction Rebellion protestor who gave up his Buddhist studies to devote himself to climate change action.

Full-time meaning somebody else is paying for his food, clothing, shelter, and copious entertainment while he makes life miserable for everyone else. At age 36. Pathetic.

Commuters at Shadwell were seen shouting at protesters in frustration, asking why they had glued themselves to an electric train.

To infuriate as many people as possible, not for the optics. Looks like it worked.

Mr Rees, a PR worker from London, said the intention was not to 'inconvenience hard-working people', and said he did not think the apparently unsympathetic mood on the platform was indicative of a decrease in public support

I'll take that bet, Rees. Try that line downtown in some working-class pub and see what it gets you.

'None of us want to inconvenience ordinary people. That's why we're doing this in the morning when it will impact business as usual, and not in the evening, when people want to get home to be with their loved ones.'

Read that twice just to get a flavor of how stupid these cultists really are. They don't want to inconvenience people, they just want to impact business by inconveniencing people. Which makes it OK, I suppose. Because they're not really people at all, are they?

Extinction Rebellion = protesters demanding immediate action on “Climate Change”.

"Climate Change" is too vanilla, most people just yawn at that by now...so they have upgraded to Climate EMERGENCY! O listen to those sirens howling! The end is nigh!
