Much more at the source....The UK Daily Mail.
2 - 1 is the normal ratio corps look to price at.
I-Ping.
While I’m no fan of Apple, R&D costs money. Code doesn’t just fall from the sky for free. Neither do chip designs. Or anything else. If the only cost was parts everything in the world would be cheaper.
If a company creates a superior product and service, then they ought to be able to command the best price-point (and margin) that they can obtain.
BEFORE the million other costs, a pizza has about 2 bucks of product in it.
They sell for 12 to 14 out here
And operating system development
And Engineering and Design
And Support and distribution costs...
Idiots
I said normal ratio.
Dont forget that minimum wage and Obamacare costs!
nothing costs as much to build as its sold for.
Supply and demand determine price...........
You always double your cost.
Minimum.
That’s the way business works.
The sad part is in my friend’s Brooklyn pizzeria/restaurant (upper class joint) the pizzas start at 16 and he says after ALL costs, they make 4 bucks a pie
My Daughter and Son-in-Law have high end I phones. I have a Samsung J7 sky pro which I got at half price. $49 and I can’t imagine needing more features.
“iOS users are spending anywhere from $1,249 to $1,449 for Apples iPhone”

Eh - well if ya got money to waste, you gotta waste it on something, I suppose.
NYC taxes are a huge cost!
As my Father always said, “things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them”.
Due to costs of products and labor? Or price of doing biz in NYC?
I use LG Rebel #4 (version) that cost me about the same. Has 16Gb native storage and I put in a 16GB mini SD card so I have all I need for photos, texting and phone calls. When I bought a computer in 1998 I had to pay $300 to have a 10GB IBM hard drive included in the build. I was very happening and very cutting edge with that size hard drive!
A lot of restaurants have thin margins on food. The big margins come from the alcoholic beverages served with it.
