The discount that I get on gasoline at Costco virtually pays for the yearly membership fee. It’s consistently $.20-$.30 a gallon less than competitors

The gasoline discount is generally only about a nickel and sometimes less compared to non top tier stations here.

In 3 years here in Florida, I have put on 10,000 miles on my new car. And it gives 35 mpg in city and 40+ on road. It takes less than $15 to fill up and it lasts 2 weeks, so cost of gas is not a big consideration for us.

But if you are saving on gas using Costco, more power to you. For us it would be 35 miles drive to nearest Costco.

If you check gasbuddy.com, you can often find comparable low gas prices in your area. There are two Chevron stations near me with prices similar to Costco or Sam’s Club, and they are closer.
