So you think we should have sent armor to fight Turkey, because that is what it would have taken to stop it? I don’t think Kurds are worth our soldiers dying for and eventually the Kurds would have had to make a deal with Assad anyways. What I haven’t seen talked about much is the possibility that this may end up with Turkey getting their butts kicked back across their border. You just never know how these muslim v. muslim wars will end up. I think it will shake out one way or another and it’s really not our concern any way it goes.
I'm not saying we should send our armor against Turkey. I'm asking questions about the whole mess. We're sitting ina genocidal country with 50 nukes and like tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousand US citizens, many service members, families, and contractors. Syria was a disaster, Kurds were helping us, now we've stepped aside to loose Turkey on them, Trump is inviting Russia and others to help the Kurds, etc. Disengaging, withdrawing from the region, might be good, but need it be so disorderly? And is the apparent breakup with Turkey intentional or an unintended consequence? Is this all plan or just poorly thought out?
And how long until someone says Trump stirred the pot to distract from impeachment?
