Economists Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer won the 2019 Nobel Economics Prize for creating an experimental approach to alleviating global poverty, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said on Monday. “This year’s Laureates have introduced a new approach to obtaining reliable answers about the best ways to fight global poverty,” the academy said in statement.

The so-called "Nobel" price for economics is the biggest scam in history. Alfred Nobel did not designate the field of economics as one of the areas of research to have a prize. It was not because there were not academics studying the field during Nobel's time. The Central Bank of Sweden decided the field somehow needed one and the people running the Nobel prize went along. The first award was in 1969.

Now a brush with greatness. I had Banerjee as a professor for a few weeks in grad school. As usual with my grad school experience, Banerjee considered teaching a hassle. He ended up not getting tenure at the school I was attending but he ended up on his feet. The faculty who gave him the heave ho ended up with egg on their face.

“This year’s Laureates have introduced a new approach to obtaining reliable answers about the best ways to fight global poverty,” the academy said in statement.

Is it through getting rid of tyrants, despots, dictators, Communist/Socialist regimes and corrupt politicians?

Now I'll go read the article. Forewarning: I expect to be highly disappointed in their solution.

__________

“reliable answers” = “reliably globalist answers”

The Academy said the work of the three economists had shown how the problem of poverty could be tackled by breaking it down into smaller and more precise questions in areas such as education and healthcare, making problems easier to tackle.

Yep, highly disappointing.

Meanwhile, Trump is teaching the planet about real world economics and the inhabitants of ivory towers all over the planet are refusing to learn.

“This year’s Laureates have introduced a new approach to obtaining reliable answers about the best ways to fight global poverty,”

Probably new ways to redistribute your money. When poverty is defined as a fraction of a statistical income distribution, such as everybody in the lowest 20% of the income distribution, you’re always going to have 20% poverty level, by definition.

What Trump is actually doing is showing that the nattering nabobs of global ethics and do-gooding are actually as corrupt as hell. They are all in it doing no good while do gooding on the taxpayer dollar. Every time someone opens his yap about Trump this or that, we need to investigate how he is on the take too.

Did they actually win a Nobel Prize for suggesting that big problems can best be solved by chunking them up into smaller, easier problems?

Because … that idea has been around for awhile.

Why didn’t Bono win the Nobel Economic Prize?

“Aid is just a stop-gap. Commerce—entrepreneurial capitalism—takes more people out of poverty than aid.”

The solution is private property rights, a free market, capitalism, and a government that will protect them.

Paul Krugman got a Nobel Prize for Economics. Ranks right down with Obama getting the Peace Prize.

I await my Nobel Prize for Economics.
