If the version of the whistleblower’s “memo” published by CBS news is accurate, then ICIG Atkinson could have discovered political bias and a heaping helping of subjective political opinion BY READING IT.
Atkinson, as former Chief Counsel in the DoJ’s “National Security Division” was at ground zero of the anti-Trump coup. When that coup shop was purged, how/why he was able to slide into the ICIG job is beyond comprehension. Does Trump have any say on who gets such a job? If so, he needs to fire every idiot who approved it. If not, who does?
So much for IGs being “above partisanship” and completely neutral, just calling balls and strikes. They’re no better than any other swamp dweller.

WHO “INSPECTS” THE INSPECTORS GENERAL?
Atkinson was an Obama Assistant U.S. Attorney in the politically vital Washington D.C. district for six years.
Then, Obama promoted Atkinson to a national security job in the Department of Justice.
In May 2018, Atkinson was confirmed for IG by Senate voice vote, which means no Democrats went on the record voting against him. Before Atkinson's confirmation, Trump retained Obama’s IG for 16 months.
Why would Trump nominate a guy like this?
Probably for the same reason that Trump still has Obama’s IG at the State Department, still has Obama’s IG at CIA, and still has Obama’s IG at the Department of Justice and FBI.
