This is the heartwarming moment a dog comforted a rescue kitten taking a bath by affectionately stroking his head with her paw.
Veterinary technician Stephanie Vice, 36, said her five-year-old Bloodhound Ruby Jane has been extremely affectionate towards the 107 rescue kittens that she and her husband Matthew, 47, have fostered in the last five years at their house in Lakeland, Florida.
Stephanie captured the adorable moment Ruby Jane comforted four-week-old kitten, Bodie, a newly-rescued American Wirehair, by gently patting him on the head as he was taking a bath in the kitchen sink.

We’ve always given our found kittens a bath. Their small enough that they don’t put up much of a fight.

Not my two. Mine are toilet divers. After Mr. Mew sat on one in the middle of the night, we started leaving the lid down. And our next shower will have glass doors on it.

How To Give a Cat a Bath
1. Put both lids up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the loud noises, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush three or four times. This provides a "power-wash" and rinse".
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the here and the front door.
7. Standing behind as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The cat will rocket out out, streak through the room and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.
Sincerely,
The Dog

Not all, I’ve had two who loved to play in the shower and bat at the water streams, getting thoroughly wet in the process.

I have found if you bath them & get them used to water when they’re kittens, they don’t mind it, and some even like it when they’re adults. I had a cat that used to jump up on the kitchen counter and wait for me to put an inch or 2 of water in the sink and he would sit in it. Another used to like to jump into the shower with you.

Our late cat “Vincent” liked to walk along the rip rap shore here at the lake. He would wade in and hook minnows with his claws, bringing them into the yard for a fresh fish meal.

My twelve year old Bloodhound recently passed. They are the SWEETEST dogs ever born. He loved everybody and everything. RIP Copper my sweet boy.

Some breeds actually love to swim. Turkish Van, Bengals, and Abyssinians are a few examples that immediately come to mind. Likewise, if not prevented from doing so, they will even go so far as to jump in the shower or bath with their human slaves.
(human slaves because as we all know, cats don’t have “owners”) :P

that viral video of the cat saving the kid from the dog that is attacking him is simply amazing.

btw, that boy on the bike has autism.
So the cat might be more protective just by instinct.
