The companies involved in these things lied about how addictive the extended release was.

That’s been proven.

One company has paid out billions already.

I’m ALL FOR personal responsibility.

I’m not for bribing whomever to get your product on the market and cover up potential devastating effects

Oh, well, that’s good to know, addicts aren’t responsible for their addiction

Can they get out of jail for crimes they committed while inder the influence?

Johnson & Johnson make the pills.

They don’t prescribe them. They don’t take them.

They just have the deepest pockets.

“Under the proposed settlement, Johnson & Johnson would pay Cuyahoga and Summit counties $10 million in cash, reimburse $5 million in legal fees and direct $5.4 million to nonprofits for opioid-related programs in those communities.”

Ka-shing!

Slippery slope. Today it is 2 counties but there are something like 3200 total in the nation plus each state will try to get in on the action.

Peanuts

Not go after the Democrat run McKinsey & Company who was advising several drug manufacturers on how to increase opioid sales.

Court cases over the opioid epidemic are putting an embarrassing spotlight on McKinsey’s strategic advice that’s usually kept strictly behind a curtain. One lawsuit stated that McKinsey advised a pharmaceutical company to “get more patients on higher doses of opioids” and study techniques “for keeping patients on opioids longer.” In other news on the epidemic: Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) rails against companies that he says have hurt Americans through the crisis, the Massachusetts attorney general is investigating a pharmacy over improper prescriptions for opioids, and more.
