Greta Thunberg, the angry young climatologist making headlines all over the world, has “won” 1 million Swedish kronor ($103,000) for her angry crusade to stop global warming. The 16-year-old is among four people named as the winners of a Right Livelihood Award, also called the “Alternative Nobel Prize.” “We honour and support courageous people solving global problems,” says their website. What problem Thunberg has “solved” is unclear. “Thunberg is the powerful voice of a young generation that will have to bear the consequences of today’s political failure to stop climate change. Her resolve to not put up with the looming climate disaster has inspired millions of peers to also raise their voices and demand immediate climate action,” says the site.

Really? She's like so many empty spokespeople: Bitch about a problem but offer no viable solution. I used to tell my Principles of Econ students I could solve US poverty overnight. (At the time, $9600 was the income cutoff for poverty.) The (naive, stupid, Snowflake) students got excited and asked how. I said: "Simple. Get everyone who makes $9600 or less, line 'em up, and shoot them." After the initial shock wore off, we had a meaningful discussion about the effects of income distribution and incentives. So let’s take us back to the 1880’s. Go solar and windmills. Shut down manufacturing. The third world countries all die off because we have no economy and can’t pay their way,but the liberals are so gleeful we stopped making stuff and polluting.
