The documentary series “Country Music” has been airing on tv stations, and this week I streamed Episode 4 at the pbs.org website and did enjoy it, even though I’m not a big C&W fan. If any FReepers saw this specific episode and liked it, please share your positive observations and any memories of listening to these songs on the radio from 1953 to 1963.

Some Highlights Of Episode 4:
Johnny Cash
Elvis Presley
Rockabilly & Little Brenda Lee
Mel Tillis
Marty Robbins ‘El Paso’
The Nashville Sound
1959 Grammy Award to The Kingston Trio for ‘Tom Dooley’ (Best C&W Song)
Willie Nelson “Crazy”
Patsy Cline (“You Didn’t Mess With Patsy”)

I am waiting to see what other FReepers think about the series before I waste any time downloading it.

This is the era I’m most interested in and watching the first half, I think it’s excellent.
